Owners Doug Young and Matt Dodson opened COVER 3 on Anderson Lane in November of 2008. Since then COVER 3 has grown to include five locations (4-C3's and 1-C2). Along with our commitment to providing quality food and exceptional cocktails in a unique environment, we attribute our continued success to our team members. Owners Matt Dodson and Doug Young, native Austinites, have joined their shared passion for outstanding food, exceptional service and a pure love of sports into one amazing establishment. Cover 3 offers up a premium bar with a spectacular selection of spirits, serving some of Austin’s coldest beer, courtesy of 12 iced Cobra taps, along with 100 wines from our distinctive wine cellar.
A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, Chef Manzi spent many years diversifying and honing his craft in multiple areas of the food world. His early experience with Hilton Hotels taught him the value of hospitality while his professional experiences with corporations such as Landry’s taught him the importance of consistency and provided the opportunity for him to elevate and refine his culinary skills.
However, his most valuable and educational experiences were gained from two people: Chef Michael Carrino and his mother, Shelley Manzi.
This good ole’ country boy comes from a strong lineage of restaurateurs. Growing up, his dad’s restaurant career took Jordan and his three younger siblings all over our great state. After graduating from Dripping Springs High School, he continued moving around, building his own career, and eventually returned to Dripping Springs to marry his high school sweetheart.more
A kid at heart, this gentleman is a fun-loving country boy.
